Rescuers in the Himalayas are battling through treacherous mud and debris for a sixth consecutive day following the devastating Nepal glacial flood, a disaster that authorities are now calling "unimaginable."
Triggered by a massive glacial collapse along the China-Nepal border last Wednesday, the tsunami-like wave of freezing water, rocks, and thick mud has left a trail of total destruction.
The confirmed death toll has tragically surged past 900, including at least 903 fatalities within Nepal and Tibet, with additional bodies pulled from downstream rivers in India.
However, the true scale of the catastrophe is still unfolding, as the number of missing persons has soared to nearly 5,000 across the region.
