Lionel Messi Argentina star has announced his retirement from the national team after two decades of representing the country, saying he has reached the point where he has nothing more to give and believes a new generation deserves an opportunity.
In an emotional statement, Messi said the decision to step away from international football was painful but one he now considers necessary.
