Zinedine Zidane France Head Coach Deal Signed Until June 2030

Zinedine Zidane set to return to management as France head coach.

French football icon Zinedine Zidane has officially agreed to become the Zinedine Zidane France head coach after signing a long-term contract running through June 2030.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news across social media platforms on Tuesday, revealing that the former Real Madrid manager has finalized all necessary paperwork and will be formally unveiled by the French Football Federation in the coming days.

"Zinedine Zidane has signed as the new France coach until June 2030. The story has been confirmed as Zizou will be unveiled as the new head coach in the next days — back to work with France,” Romano reported.

Under the terms of the agreement, the 54-year-old manager will lead Les Bleus through a comprehensive international cycle that encompasses the 2027 UEFA Nations League, UEFA Euro 2028, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. 

His appointment marks a historic moment for French football as the former World Cup winner steps into the dugout to succeed long-serving manager Didier Deschamps following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup campaign.

Zidane, who scored two memorable goals in the 1998 World Cup final to deliver France's maiden world title, has been out of management since stepping down from Real Madrid in 2021. 

During his remarkable managerial stint in Spain, he achieved unprecedented success by leading Real Madrid to three consecutive UEFA Champions League trophies between 2016 and 2018, alongside two La Liga titles.
