Approved directly by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the comprehensive restructuring aims to significantly strengthen national security and optimize combat readiness in response to fluid internal security threats.
According to an official statement released on Saturday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, these strategic reassignments span critical theatre commands, training depots, and technology-driven warfare divisions to enhance systemic efficiency across the military architecture.
Among the most significant adjustments in this nationwide reshuffle are the reassignments at the primary division levels, bringing fresh leadership to critical internal security operations.
Major General WM Dangana has been officially posted as the new General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace, successfully taking over from Major General EF Oyinlola.
Concurrently, Major General EI Okoro assumes leadership as the GOC 6 Division and Land Component Commander of the Joint Task Force South-South Operation Delta Safe in the Niger Delta region, succeeding Major General EE Emeka.

Additionally, Major General JR Lar moves in as Commander of the Army Headquarters Garrison, while Brigadier General OM Oyekola steps up to serve as the Acting Military Secretary.
The extensive restructuring under this strategic Nigerian Army reshuffle also mirrors a progressive military pivot toward modern technological domains and enhanced administrative property governance.
Major General SA Emmanuel has been appointed to lead the specialized Nigerian Army Space Command, highlighting the high command's dedication to handling emerging cyber and electronic intelligence operations.
On the corporate and educational front, Major General KO Ukandu was named the Managing Director of Post Housing Development Limited, while Major General SD Makolo takes over command of the Nigerian Army Armour School.
Lieutenant General Shaibu has charged all newly deployed senior officers to implement exemplary professionalism and absolute loyalty to institutional mandates while securing territorial sovereignty.
