The football community has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of 21-year-old Nigerian footballer Victor Akaniyene Udoh, who reportedly died after suspected food poisoning during a visit to Nigeria. 

The football world has been left heartbroken following the reported death of promising Nigerian footballer Victor Akaniyene Udoh at the age of 21. 

According to reports, the young striker allegedly died after suffering suspected food poisoning during a holiday visit to Nigeria. 

Victor Udoh, who was born on October 18, 2004, in Akwa Ibom State, reportedly became seriously ill after an outing with friends in Abuja. 

Sources claimed he was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive the following morning, but sadly passed away despite medical efforts to save him. 

While early reports have linked the incident to suspected food or drink poisoning, authorities are yet to officially confirm the exact cause of death. 

Udoh moved from Nigeria to Belgium in 2023, where he joined the youth setup of Royal Antwerp and quickly impressed with his goals and performances. 

His rapid development eventually earned him opportunities with the club’s first team, boosting his reputation as one of Nigeria’s emerging football talents abroad. 

The young striker also reportedly had playing spells with English club Southampton FC and Czech side SK Dynamo České Budějovice during his career journey. 

News of his death has sparked emotional reactions across social media, with football fans, friends, and colleagues mourning the sudden loss of a promising talent whose career was only beginning to blossom.
