Authorities linked him to major attacks, including:

Also named is Mohammed Sani, said to be a member of Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladissudam (ANSARU), a group linked to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

According to government findings:

He trained under Mokhtar Belmokhtar (“One Eyed”). Specialized in communication codes and explosive devices. Acted as a courier for operatives across Algeria and Mali And Reportedly escaped during the Kuje prison break.

Another individual listed is Abdurrahman Abdurrahman, also described as a senior ISWAP commander.
