Nigeria’s Super Eagles have recorded a major boost in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings, rising to 26th place globally and third in Africa following their outstanding performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The new rankings were released on Monday, confirming Nigeria’s significant progress on the global football stage.

Nigeria Gains Most Ranking Points Worldwide

The Super Eagles made one of the biggest jumps in the rankings, climbing 12 places from 38th to 26th. Nigeria also recorded the highest points gain globally, adding +79.09 points after the tournament.

Eric Chelle’s side finished third overall at AFCON 2025, showcasing consistency, discipline, and tactical strength throughout the competition.
