Godwin Emefiele Granted Bail by Abuja High Court with Stringent Conditions
Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, has approved bail for Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank, at a sum of N300 million.
The bail requires two sureties of equivalent sums who must possess certificates of occupancy and property titles within the Maitama District.
Additionally, Emefiele is directed to submit all his travel documents to the court's registrar and restrict his movements to the Abuja Municipal Council. Pending fulfillment of the bail conditions, he is to remain in Kuje Correctional Centre.
This development follows an earlier bail granted by the Federal High Court in Lagos four months ago, which required a significantly lower sum of N20 million.
