Iker Casillas comes out as gay

 Goalkeeper Iker Casillas, a legend for Spain and Real Madrid, comes out as gay.

Iker Casillas, a renowned goalkeeper for Real Madrid and Spain, came out as gay on Sunday. 

He posted in Spanish on Twitter, "I hope you respect me: I'm gay." It's time to speak our memories, Iker," Carles Puyol, a national team teammate who also played for fierce rivals Barcelona, wrote in response.

Prior to their divorce in March 2021, Casillas and sports journalist Sara Carbonero were married for five years. Together, they had two kids.
