Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, has withdrawn from the presidential election in 2023.
The minister stated that he made the "momentous decision" in the national interest and to allow him to focus on his work.
The former governor of Anambra State was one of the ruling All Progressives Congress's presidential candidates (APC).
His resignation comes less than two days after Nigerian President Buhari ordered all members of his administration seeking electoral office in the 2023 elections to retire by May 16.
