On Monday, a woman identified as the wife of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari, fainted outside the Federal High Court in Abuja.
She collapsed to the ground shortly after trial Justice Emeka Nwite deferred ruling on applications submitted by DCP Kyari and six other people charged with drug trafficking to be released on bail awaiting the outcome of the case.
While armed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, were escorting Kyari and the others away from the court premises, the middle-aged woman, who was wearing a black Hijab, slumped to the floor.
Despite the fact that she appeared lifeless on the floor, she was promptly taken up and rushed into one of the court's offices on the third floor by NDLEA personnel and lawyers.
Even though one of the women who accompanied her to court intimated that she was asthmatic, efforts were on to get an inhaler for her at the time of reporting this story, 11.07 a.m.
