The management of the Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) has made a U-turn on the resumption date and joined the Academic Staff Union of the University (ASUU) eight-week strike.
This was contain in a letter by the Academic Staff Union of the University (ASUU), Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) chapter, titled DECLARATION OF AN EIGHT-WEEK ROLLING STRIKE.
Its reads, "Following from ASUU-ABSS Congress of today, 16 march 2022, we wish to
inform you that ASUU-ABSU has joined the ongoing national eight-week rolling
strike.
"This strike became necessary when the four weeks rolling strike earlier embarked upon by ASUU was deemed Insufficient to address issues in the ongoing negotiation between the Federal Government of Nigeria and ASUU.
"We want to use this opportunity to Remind us that ASUU Strike, over the year
have benefited Abia State University in many ways one.
For this reason, therefore, we wish to solicit your usual cooperation in this struggle for the heart of public universities in Nigeria. Thank you
