Yobe: Policeman caught providing Tramadol to Boko Haram

In Yobe State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)in Yobe said it had arrested a policeman with a drug trafficker who allegedly connived and supplied 59kg of Tramadol tablets to Boko Haram insurgents in Gwoza, Borno State.

NDLEA state Commander, Mr. Reuben Apeh, while tending to newsmen in Damaturu, said the suspects (names with held ) were captured on November 7. Apeh said the medication dealer had admitted to purchasing the restricted substance from an anonymous Customs official in Lagos.

"He admitted contracting the police officer to pass on the medications to Maiduguri before continuing to Gwoza to supply presumed fear based oppressors.

"He guaranteed that the medications were a piece of dispatches seized by the Nigerian Customs during its activities in Lagos, and were offered to him at the expense of N6m, while the real market esteem was N24m.

"We are as yet dealing with him to give us the subtleties of the supposed Customs official and another assistant he guaranteed was situated in Ijora, Lagos.

"The medications were moved from Lagos to Jos, and gave over to the cop for conveyance to Maiduguri, where he (dealer ) will take it to suspected fear mongers in Gwoza," Apeh said.

He said the suspects would before long be accused to court of the shows. The Commander engaged different partners and the general population to team up with the organization in checking the danger of medication dealing and utilization.
