The Lagos State Government has revealed plans to register religious houses in 2020, says it is to ensure stability in the state.

On Tuesday, during a Stakeholders Meeting with the Nigeria Inter-strict Council (NIREC), the Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, said this in Alausa, Ikeja,

She added that "having a database of every religious bodies in the state would empower simplicity of reference, as well as ensure effective communication.

"We have to know our number, at that point we can realize what we need, we can know where we have a place, we can recognize what we are doing.

"So, we are coming up with the registration forms and we need your cooperation as religious bodies that represent us at the local government level.

"We will guarantee that we have it on a stage that will be robotized, at that point you can do it anyplace, it isn't necessary that you come to Alausa for the enrollment," She said.

She said that once the platform is ready, religious bodies would be trained on how to use it for registration and at no cost.

Akinbile-Yussuf clarified that the design was to have simple access to Churches and Mosques with the goal for them to profit by government programs.

She said that the Ministry of Home Affairs would work together with the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources through the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), to annihilate commotion, noise pollution emanating from places of worship.
