Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, addressed the state following his defeat in Tuesday’s primary.

Ambode lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was the anointed aspirant of the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Sanwo-Olu polled 970, 851 votes while Ambode had 72, 901 votes.

He congratulated the winner, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and asked everyone to work with him to ensure he emerges victorious come 2019 and also thanked the party national leader, Bola Tinubu. 

He also promised to ensure a smooth transition and work with the party while still in office.
