Aisha Yesufu Criticises Peter Obi’s Channels TV Interview, Says Nigerians Should Focus on Credible Elections

Activist Aisha Yesufu has criticised Peter Obi’s Channels TV interview, describing the discussion as repetitive and calling on Nigerians to shift their attention toward securing credible elections rather than revisiting the same political conversations.

Reacting to the interview, Yesufu said she felt frustrated while watching the programme because many of the questions asked had already been addressed in previous interviews.

According to her, Peter Obi’s media appearances usually generate excitement because of the issues discussed. However, she said this particular interview left her feeling irritated, arguing that the conversation offered little that was new to the public.

She questioned the value of repeatedly discussing the same topics, noting that she could not identify any question asked during the interview that had not already been raised and answered on previous occasions.

According to Yesufu, continuing to revisit familiar political issues without tangible progress risks distracting Nigerians from more pressing national concerns.

She stressed that greater attention should be directed toward ensuring credible, free and transparent elections, which she believes remain essential to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

Her comments have sparked reactions across social media, with supporters and critics expressing differing views. 

While some agreed that political interviews should move beyond repeated questions and focus on fresh policy discussions, others argued that public interviews remain important for holding political leaders accountable and clarifying their positions on national issues.
