Court declares Kim Kardashian officially Single Amid divorce from Ye

Kim Kardashian finally became a single woman on Wednesday, March 2, after her marriage to rapper Kanye West (Ye). 

In a courthouse in Los Angeles, the mother-of-four appeared via videoconference and was sworn in. 

Kanye West, who has been seen in Miami this week, was not in attendance and did not participate in the hearing via videoconference. Cochran overruled his objections.

Judge Steve Cochran asked Kim a series of questions, including "is it your desire to become a single person?" Kardashian answered "yes" to all. "It is granted," Cochran said. 

The judge's action, known as bifurcation, permits a person going through a difficult divorce to become legally single while child custody and property concerns are resolved. 

In addition, the judge decided to remove West from Kardashian's name. Kanye West submitted petitions last month requesting three legal requirements, and the judge ruled on them. 

The first request – that the parties' money be reimbursed before a final judgment on the property is issued if one of them dies – was granted. 

The judge, however, is said to have rejected West's other requests, including that Kardashian not transfer assets held in a trust and that she relinquish the "marital privilege" if she remarries.

Recall that, In February 2021, Kim filed for divorce from West. North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm are their four children.
