The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has given reasons for breaking into Dorathy Bachor's house at 4:45 a.m. on Monday.

Dorathy claimed that armed EFCC officers burst into her Lagos home, but then claimed it was a misunderstanding.

Recall that Dorathy lamented via her Instagram page on how EFCC broke into her apartment.

She said, "At 4:45am, I heard a loud sound, and voices followed after, I rushed out almost naked to see 5 fully armed @officialefcc men in my living room", read here.

But the EFCC said in a statement on Monday that Dorathy was not at home, let alone walking out "half-naked."

"The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been drawn to a post on Instagram by one Dorothy Bachor, stating that agents of the Commission broke into her residence in the early hours of today, August 23, 2021," the anti-corruption body said.

"The Commission can report that on Monday, August 23, 2021, operatives from the Commission's Lagos Command, acting on verifiable intelligence, executed a Search Warrant at a block of apartments in the Lekki area of Lagos, during which nine online fraud suspects were arrested.

"One of the flats in the building happened to be Ms. Bachor's. EFCC agents had come on her door, identifying themselves as members of the Commission on a mission to carry out a search warrant. Bachor's sister, however, refused them entry for several minutes.

"The operatives had no choice but to force their way in, lest suspects flee or critical evidence be destroyed.

"It is critical to emphasize that law-abiding persons have no reason to object to the execution of a properly obtained Search Warrant.

"And, contrary to popular belief, Ms. Bachor was not present during the operation, and the anti-EFCC stories about her emerging half-naked and other fantastical details appear to have been made up to fit the pattern she and other internet-fueled celebrities so desperately want to promote about the EFCC."
