Abia govt declares Friday, 18th December 2020, as public holiday

Abia State Government has declared the coming Friday 18the DEC 2020 as public holiday due to the forthcoming local government elections holding in the state.

This was disclose in a statement by the state  Honorable Commisioner for Information Chief John Okiyi Kalu.

He added that, movement of persons and goods shall be restricted within the state from midnight of Thursday, 17th December, 2020 with only staff of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), security agents, media practitioners and others on essential duties exempted. 

We wish to call on citizens and visitors alike to ensure the maintenance of peace, law and order before, during and after the election.
