Veteran Nollywood Star, Saint Obi, Dies At 57

Nollywood Superstar, Legend, and King of Gangstar Movies Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi is dead.

Saint Obi died in JUTH after a brief illness. He hailed from Mbaitolu in Imo State. A University of Jos Theatre Arts graduate he was, aged 57.

The death of a former Nollywood actor has been reported since Monday, May 7, 2023. He was claimed to have died after months of going back and forth to the hospital for an unknown ailment. 

No formal announcement has been made as of yet, and it appears that his sister, Mrs Felicia Jofu, is purposefully hiding the news from his friends and the public. It is unclear whether his ex-wife, Lydia, has been told as of the time of publication.

Our correspondent learned from people around No 13 Metropolitan Street in Tudun Wada, Jos, where the sister lives, that "someone" in that property had died, but they are unsure of the identify of the deceased.

However, a local who requested anonymity stated the actor, whom he had met a few times and recognized as Saint Obi, died on Sunday and his body was brought to the JUTH morgue the next day.
