The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called the governorship tribunal's decision "a miscarriage of justice" and promised to appeal the decision.
This was said in a statement provided to Governor Adeleke on Friday in Osogbo and signed by Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Governor Adeleke urged his supporters to maintain calm while pledging to appeal the decision at the Court of Appeal, maintaining that he is still the legitimate victor of the July 16 election.
Governor Adeleke criticized the Tribunal's decision to rule in favor of Mr. Oyetola from his rural home in Ede, calling it "an unfair interpretation against the will of the majority of voters."
"I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate”, Governor Adeleke declared.
