The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors from the North have rejected the choice of Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate of the party.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party's National Chairman, is alleged to have announced Lawan as the consensus candidate, a decision with which members of the National Working Committee are said to disagree.
Governors of the Northern States Governors' Forum met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
They rejected the choice of Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate of the party.
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State said the president agreed with their position and that the presidential candidate should emerge through a transparent process.
