Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, and two other people have been found guilty of kidnapping by a Lagos High Court in Ikeja, presided over by Justice Hakeem Oshodi.
Evans and two others were found guilty by Justice Oshodi of kidnapping Donatus Dunu, the Managing Director of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Limited, on February 14, 2017 and demanding 223,000 Euros in ransom from his family.
Evans was charged with five other people, but only two of them (Amadi and Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu) were found guilty by the court.
Evans' verdict was based on the judge's observations of the witness' demeanor, claiming that in some of the confessional films produced in court, Evans named several of the other defendants and their roles in the crime.
He came to the conclusion that the evidence presented in court, particularly their video admissions, proved their guilt. Evans and his accomplices might be sentenced to life in jail.
