Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has reaffirmed his proud membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claiming that it is still the party of choice for our people.

In a press issued on Monday, August 30th, 2021 by Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the Governor emphasized the importance of strengthening the PDP in various wards in the State's LGAs, stating that no politician excels without political wards.

Governor Ikpeazu was speaking while hosting the PDP Ward Meeting of Obingwa Ward 7, his immediate Ward, at Umuobiakwa Village.

He stated that anyone who excels in politics must have the approval and support of his political ward, and he urged stakeholders to hold party ward meetings at regular intervals.

He went on to say that party members at the ward level needed to reorganize and fortify themselves at the polling unit level.

He also charged party leaders at the Ward level with ensuring that democracy takes root at the polling Units, especially now that voter registration has been commended yet again, urging all eligible voters who have yet to register to do so immediately.

In their remarks, the Ward Chairman of the PDP Stakeholders, Chief Rowland Nwakanma, and Chief Isaac Ogbonna thanked the Governor for hosting the Ward meeting and praised him for his giant strides in the State.

They assured that the monthly meeting would be continued because it would strengthen the party in the ward, while also urging everyone to register for the ongoing INEC Online Registration Excercise.

Chief Nwakanma promised to host the Ward's next meeting. Earlier, Mr. Ahamefula Egbulefu, the PDP Ward Chairman of Obingwa Ward 7, stated that the meeting was necessary to strengthen the party in the ward.

He stated that the party is making frantic efforts to encourage people to register for the INEC registration exercise in order to increase the numerical strength of the ward, and he thanked the Governor for kicking off the Ward meetings.

Chief Victor Ebere, the State PDP Organizing Secretary and a Ward resident, was also present at the meeting.
