AS it happened, 19 children die in Kwara boat mishap.

Tragedy struck in Kwara state, Lafiagi, Edu local government area after 19 children drowned in a boat mishap on Saturday December 1st. 

According to a reports, an eye witness said that 22 people, mostly children, were on board when the accident happened. 

“As at yesterday evening, four corpses had been recovered from the river. Effort would resume today to ensure that others are also found. Both men of the Nigeria police and the state fire service were there yesterday in the rescue mission. 

Unfortunately only two of them survived”. The remains of those bodies that have been recovered have been deposited in the morgue while efforts are still ongoing to recover the bodies of those still in the river.
